The key assumption of the project was to create a website with a product catalog, which would provide the clients with key information about the offered products and services, which are products and services related to transcription and dictation, aimed at mostly professional use, by Philips.
Our client already had a website, but it was created with a web editor of one of the Polish hosting companies. This made it impossible to move or introduce any necessary changes. All that was left was to create the website from scratch. We were given photos and some texts, which we scrapped from the old website - while other texts we wrote ourselves. We also decided to use the Philips brandbook for inspiration concerning the atmosphere, colors and style of the company.
The website is aimed at the Polish market, which is why it is only in Polish. However, we made sure that it is possible to add more languages in the future - if the client wishes to expand their business.
The structure of the website is divided into two main parts - the part with all key information with examples of how one can use the offered devices and services, as well as the part with all the products - divided into categories.
The website was created as a product catalog, but with the option to turn it into an online store if need arises. For this reason it was created on top of our favorite store engine PrestaShop. After removing all redundant elements we turned it into a website with a clear and functional catalog of products. This solution allows us to use many categories and add countless products. Moreover, each product can belong to a few categories at the same time. Adding, modifying or deleting/hiding products is done from an administrative panel, so it is possible to do it without familiarity with any programming languages.
In choosing the colors for the creation of the website we have used information provided by Philips in their brand book - we followed their guidelines on the use of the logo, texts and the colors for verified partners. We chose different colors for different sections and products, which at the same time were in keeping with the pre-set color palette.
Because the website has been verified as the website of an official Philips partner, therefore the effects of our work have been checked and approved by Philips quality assurance team.
To guide the future development of the website we have added Google Analytics, which allows us to track the behaviors of the users in real time - and draw really interesting conclusions concerning the website design, usability and information infrastructure.
